After what felt like a crazy long February and March, April broke out with more sun than showers this year. We had unusually warm weather in Hamburg and this past week we spent an entire rain-free heatwave in Italy’s Tuscany region. It was my first time in Italy and I had the joys of not only spending it with L but I met my mom and her best friend who were off touring Austria and Germany for their birthdays. I haven’t seen my mom since the beginning of the year so it was the greatest gift to spend time with her in one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

For our first full day, Lukas and I spent the morning in Florence. It was our first introduction to the city and although we were a little groggy and coffee-deprived driving into the city at 7 AM, it was absolutely beautiful to tour the city without the tourist traffic.
